Junior Researcher at the ISÖ - Institute for Social Ecology

Olga Sazonova works as Junior Researcher at the ISÖ-Institute for Social Ecology starting from October 2017. She possesses two Master Degrees: MA in International Relations, Global Governance and Social Theory from Jacobs University Bremen and M.Sc. in Sustainability, Society and the Environment from Kiel University. Her areas of specialisation include international and environmental law, sustainability economics, ecosystem services, integrated environmental management and methods of research conduction. Her master thesis included qualitative content analysis of the legal documents and future scenario development in the areas of hazardous substances and marine ecosystem services.
Olga completed her Bachelor Studies in International Relations in Warsaw, getting a degree from the partnering University of Wales. Her bachelor thesis presents the analysis of the Security Council of the United Nations and its comparison to Hobbesian Leviathan.
Olga got international working experience during her internships at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Hamburg and at the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC) in Bonn, where she was working for the Climate Neutral Now initiative. Having acquired 2,5 years of working experience in the private sector in areas of outdoor mapping and measurements, she also has been engaged in the social projects of the Turkish Community in Neumünster, where she teaches German.
Olga Sazonova was born 1990 in Ukraine. She speaks Russian, Ukrainian, English, German and Polish languages.
